About Us

YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT WILL FINALLY GIVE YOU THAT EXTRA ENCOURAGEMENT NEEDED TO CHASE YOUR DREAMS.

  • My father was my push! He was a scientist, an avid astronomer, and loved nature and adventure. Head a silly sense of humor and was a very loving husband and father to my mother, sister and me. It was natural to be surrounded by nature, science, music and art and it was part of our everyday lives. In late May of 2018, he was diagnosed with metastatic

  • renal cell carcinoma. I watch the strong and joyful man that had raised me quickly be stolen away. Barely two months later, on August 1st 2018, he lost his battle. This was a very traumatic experience for our family and my heart. If there is one thing I was taught it is that every grey cloud has a silver lining! His passing made me realize that our time here is limited.

A NEW FOUND SPARK HELPED ME FOCUS MY ENERGY INTO SOMETHING TANGIBLE.

I knew that In order to live fully I must throw caution to the wind and follow my heart. Because the only moment that is guaranteed in NOW! Now is the time to be everything you ever dreamed of. All that is stopping you is the limits that you set on your life. So the Emerald Tree Boutique came to be slowly at first and ever evolving into something beautiful.

  • The Emerald Tree Boutique Is a happy space. I want the shop to connect people! Bring a little joy! It is a place to focus on commonalities we all share as humans! Celebrate connection and mutual respect for nature. I truly believe that all of our hearts are the same. We just tell the story in different ways. I hope it will be a place to find and reconnect to nature, art, life, the human spirit and all the ups and downs that come.

  • After all, we are all perfectly imperfect in every way. Through thoughtfully discovered clothing, accessories, gifts, housewares, artwork, and children’s items, and perhaps a little touch of magic and wonder. The Emerald Tree is a fun and welcoming space, and I hope to capture the hearts and minds of every person who walks through the door. Meet me at the Emerald Tree!

The connection between art and nature and our daily lives has always fascinated me. I believe we have to find harmony between modern life and the earth which nourishes our soul. We have to reconnect with each other.

  • I have many happy memories as a child. I grew up in the city of Toronto,Canada, and spent summers at the family cottage in the Muskokas. It was the best of both worlds. I came to love the culture, art, sparkle and energy that came with the everyday buzzing of the city but my heart was always restored when I got to explore the wilds! So many days of joy were spent hiking, swimming, fishing, catching frogs, picking flowers, climbing rocks, chasing butterflies and bugs and just learning about the natural world. I was often outdoors until the sun went down, and then afterwards we stayed up to look at the stars.

  • I took up an interest in fashion design when I was young. It was a creative expression where I could speak through fabrics and color without words. I attended college in Toronto and graduated with a degree in Fashion Arts, as well as a Marketing Management Certificate. I was also a member of the volleyball varsity team which taught me much about life, confidence, work ethic and trusting in your own abilities.

I SPENT MY TWENTIES WORKING IN SMALL DESIGN SHOPS IN THE YORKVILLE DISTRICT IN TORONTO.

I have also had experience as a technical designer and have lived and worked directly with fair trade factories globally, traveling on new adventures whenever I had the opportunity. I always find myself drawn back to the forests, lakes, and wildflowers of my childhood. I keep coming back to my heart! I have always felt that my life would not follow a routine and path. That is what led me to West Virginia. I am now a wife to a wonderful man and a mother to three beautiful and spirited boys. I am also me! Here in Davis I have been able to create a space to share my love for nature and connection, as well as explore my creative side. Life seems to have settled into something beautiful!
